The Seamonster & the Milk Thistle is an odyssey harkening back to German Expressionism. The sins of fathers and sons are explored through surrealism. The director’s keenly observed visual imagery explores subtext in order to question stereotypes in film. The Milk Thistle song blends elements of disquiet with a lyrical lullaby.
